“Above all, learn how to breathe correctly.” – Joseph Pilates
Proper breathing is both a guiding principle and a goal of the Pilates Method, because it is so critical to good health. Joseph Pilates, a man ahead of his time, believed that we nourish our bodies by breathing deeply – inhaling maximum oxygen through the lungs and expelling maximum waste from the body. He also knew that core muscles not only support posture and movement, they are a key part of the respiratory system, helping to cleanse our bodies from the inside out.
In this series, Susan will examine the Pilates Matwork with a focus on the breath to help you feel better and move better every day. She will guide you through movements to help you stretch and strengthen the respiratory muscles and develop fuller breathing to build mental and physical stamina, concentration and calm the nervous system. You’ll leave feeling invigorated, tranquil and focused.
All levels are welcome. Series Dates: Saturdays on 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2. This event is sold as a full 5-week series to ensure that you get the best results and includes a special series discount. Space is limited, and it will likely sell out quickly.
