Have you ever marveled at the movement of a cat — constantly stretching, bending, rolling and twisting? Pilates is designed to restore the human body’s vigor, suppleness and agility through its unique combination of rolling and massaging movements combined with deep, active breathing. In this 45-minute workshop, you will learn principles and movements to help you restore the spine to its natural alignment and flexibility, use your abdominals to massage and manipulate the spine and use breathing to power your movement and purify the body.
We don’t come with an owner’s manual, but we should! The Body 101 series is about sharing simple, fundamental information and movements that can unlock a pathway, turn on a light bulb and transform the way you move and feel in your body.

*NOTE: You will need an exercise mat, ideally placed on a hard floor. If you have a resistance band, foam roller and a Pilates magic circle, then have them handy. If not, no worries! Check out our “What You Need” links for info on these and other suggested items.
