Joseph Pilates said, “If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.” Pilates is designed to restore the human body’s vigor, suppleness and agility. It integrates detoxifying twisting movements that wring the stiffness out of your spine and deeply condition your core muscles. In this 45-minute workshop, you will learn principles and movements to help you strengthen all the layers of your abdominals, increase your spinal mobility and improve your overall core strength and control.
We don’t come with an owner’s manual, but we should! The Body 101 series is about sharing simple, fundamental information and movements that can unlock a pathway, turn on a light bulb and transform the way you move and feel in your body.

*NOTE: You will need an exercise mat, ideally placed on a hard floor. If you have a resistance band, yoga strap and a Pilates magic circle, then have them handy. If not, no worries! Check out our “What You Need” links for info on these and other suggested items.
