Pilates Center of Rockville is proud to offer the Pink Ribbon Program, a Pilates-based exercise program designed specifically for breast cancer survivors. Our goal is to provide the knowledge, guidance, support and caring environment to help survivors regain strength, improve range of motion, return to exercise and feel better.
Our Pink Ribbon certified teachers are certified and trained to evaluate those diagnosed with breast cancer, and design a comprehensive exercise program that addresses the individual’s specific needs and goals. This includes assessing the condition of a client based on diagnosis, treatment, recovery and history of lymphedema. The exercises are Pilates-based, and help stretch and strengthen the shoulder, chest, back, and abdominal muscles, allowing clients to regain range of motion to areas affected by breast cancer surgery and treatment.
The Pink Ribbon Program was created by Doreen Puglisi, an exercise physiologist, Pilates instructor and breast cancer survivor. It has been embraced by hospitals, physical therapy centers, educational institutions and survivors managing their own recovery. The program is suitable for all fitness levels. Whether your surgery was recent or several years ago, our teachers can help. Call us at 301.770.3340 to book your Pink Ribbon Private / Initial Assessment.
