Relieve your tight hip flexors, rounded shoulders, bad posture and achy back. Have you ever noticed that most of your body positions and movements involve forward bending and forward motion? Bad things can happen when we don’t work the back of the body. You need strong back muscles and other muscles of the “back body” to erect your spine and stretch open the front of the body. That’s what extension does!
The Full Body Extension 5-Week Series is a progressive course that will help you get the maximum benefits of extension exercises, including spinal extension (backbending), leg/hip extension and shoulder extension. In this series, we will strengthen the back extensors to lift, support and elongate the spine. We will alleviate tightness in the hip flexors by increasing leg and hip extension, and we will open the chest and shoulder muscles. You will also learn how to use the back and abdominal muscles together to lift and decompress the spine for greater ease of movement. With understanding and practice, you’ll feel safe and strong, and be able to move more freely into glorious extension!
This series is open to all levels. However, it is not suitable for those with spinal or back injuries/conditions. Series Dates: Saturdays on 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/4, 3/11.
